For the first time, the Oogfonds Innovation Award was granted during the ZieZo exhibition in January of this year. The award is granted to the most innovative product or service for blind and visually impaired people. An important criterion for achieving the Award is the involvement of the users (the blind and visually impaired) in the development of the product (or service). In view of the many innovations that were presented during ZieZo, it was an exciting match. The I-Cane Foundation was the well deserved winner with its intelligent white stick, the I-Cane.

The money will be put into the further development of the intelligent cane. This I-Cane, among other things equiped with a tangible arrow, navigation system and obstacle detection, will considerably improve the safety, mobility and the ability to do things independently of people with a visual impairment.
