I-Cane foundation receives Swift Fund Award in Brussels

On march 26 baron Alexandre Lamfalussy, chairman of the board of the Swift Fund and mr Lázaro Campos, Chief Executive Officer of SWIFT handed over the annual Swift Fund award to the i-Cane foundation.

 

The Swift Fund, which is managed by the King Boudewijn Foundation, was established in 1997. Its objective is to reward an annual award of € 50.000 to a high quality project, either Belgium of Dutch, which connects people through the innovative use of technology.

SWIFT is the international organisation which is owned by the financial sector itself and offers an international communication platform and many other services to over 8500 financial institutions around the globe.

For the people of the i-Cane initiative this award presents an enormous stimulus to continue the works.

During the festivities the i-Cane had the honour to present our project. Part of this presentation were speeches by Mr. Huub Grooten, secretary of the i-Cane foundation, Mrs. van de Watering-Geesink, director of LSBS and mr. Joosten, chairman of VIZIRIS.

In his presentation Hans Slijp, program manager of I-Cane invited the SWIFT organisation to extend the co-operation toward the future. The initial response was very positive.
